Observations at UPT SDN 2 Pakunden show that even though the learning facilities are adequate, the lecture method applied still does not actively involve students. The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether there is a significant impact of the use of the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) learning model combined with the demonstration method on student learning achievement in mathematics subjects. The method used is a quantitative approach with a Quasi Experiment design, Post-test Only Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 84 students in class V, who were divided into experimental and control groups. The results showed that the TSTS model with the demonstration method increased student involvement, confidence in presentation, and understanding of bar chart concepts. This finding is based on the results of a hypothesis test with a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.004 < 0.05 which is the basis for proving the effectiveness of the application of the model in mathematics learning. This study recommends the application of the TSTS model with a demonstration method as a more interactive and engaging learning alternative that guarantees improved mathematics learning outcomes for students.
2025-04-22T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Mita Febi Indah Sari, Suyitno, Adin Fauzi & Melinda Febriana https://ojs.fkip.umada.ac.id/index.php/mes/article/view/291 Mastery Learning Based Elementary School Learning for Philippines’ Students with the Schneeball-Wirbelgruppe Model 2025-06-03T06:45:48+00:00 Marie Freddie Gladys mariafg76@gmail.com Isaiah Jacinto Naparan isaiahjnaparan@gmail.com
21st century learning demands mastery of scientific thinking concepts and skills through collaborative approaches and active discussion. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Schneeball-Wirbelgruppe learning model in improving the mastery of concepts in the science material studied by students. The study took place in Lam-an, Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental, Philippines, focusing on an elementary school namely Philippine Schools Overseas (PSO). The study uses a one-group pretest-posttest class experimental design with a sample of 19 elementary school students in 2025. The instrument used is a concept mastery test in the form of multiple choice and descriptions that have been validated and reliable. Data were analyzed using descriptive (N-gain test) and inferential (paired t-test) analysis. The results showed a significant increase between pretest and posttest scores, indicating that the Schneeball-Wirbelgruppe model was effective in improving conceptual mastery, especially in science learning. These findings suggest that the model can be an alternative to innovative learning strategies that support students' conceptual understanding in a more in-depth way. The implication of this study is that the Schneeball-Wirbelgruppe model has the potential to be applied to a wide range of other concepts and subjects at the elementary school level.
2025-06-25T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Marie Freddie Gladys & Isaiah Jacinto Naparan https://ojs.fkip.umada.ac.id/index.php/mes/article/view/244 Transforming School Libraries into Educational Literacy-Based Learning Centers in Elementary Schools 2025-06-03T07:05:06+00:00 Muh. This is a crucial challenge in the process of forming their communication skills as prospective educators in elementary schools. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the strategy of developing students' communication skills in the social context of experimentation as a learning strategy in improving students' communication skills. This study uses an experimental contextual study method, which analyzes the impact of implementing real-life based strategies. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of five students in the sixth semester of PGSD Madako Tolitoli University who were selected purposively. The results of this study show that students' communication skills in the experimental social context are applied with the strategy of open thematic discussion forums (87.88%), social interaction simulations (83.66%), and collaborative studies across study programs (84.21%). The results of each of these findings had a good impact on improving students' communication skills after they were involved in social experiment activities. Contributively, these findings can be used as an alternative learning strategy that is effective in developing the communication skills of PGSD students at Madako Tolitoli University.
2025-06-25T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Ribka Yago, Nurhasanah, Arpiani & Yulia Astuti https://ojs.fkip.umada.ac.id/index.php/mes/article/view/304 School Library Administration Management Towards a Literacy-Based Educational Learning Center for Elementary School Students 2025-06-04T14:08:53+00:00 St. Marwiyah dra_st_marwiyah@iainpalopo.ac.id Alauddin drs_alauddin@iainpalopo.ac.id Hakim Yasin hakimyasin@ukm.edu.my
This study reviews the strategy of transforming school libraries into learning centers that focus on educational literacy, taking into account the effectiveness of managerial supervision in supporting these changes. This study aims to examine the transformation of school libraries into educational literacy-based learning centers through an analysis of the effectiveness of library administrative mengement at Integrated Islamic Elementary School, Palopo City. Qualitative methods are the focus of analysis of research findings through the application of ethnographic approaches. The subject of this study was the library manager. Data collection techniques by conducting observation activities as well as interviews with respondents to collect information or data to support data analysis. The results of the confirmed analysis of the progressivity of the administrative management of school library services showed a percentage increase of all observed sub-indicators. From the results of this study, it can be seen that the transformation of school library services has increased significantly from the comparison of the 2023-2024 period. The implication of this study is the importance of strengthening the role of school library operators in effectively and consistently managing all sub-sectors of the transformative library administration service arrangement.
2025-06-25T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 St. Marwiyah, Alauddin, & Hakim Yasin https://ojs.fkip.umada.ac.id/index.php/mes/article/view/293 Analysis of Content Creator-Based Learning Among PGSD’ Students on Public Speaking Ability 2025-06-03T06:54:39+00:00 Syaiful Hidayat syaifulh453@gmail.com Karmila Risa Rahmawati karmilarisarahmawati@gmail.com Dela Maulana delamaulana2k3@gmail.com Indri indrindi67@gmail.com Fitriani itingfitri01@gmail.com
In today's era of rapid technological advancement and widespread information flow, there remains a gap in individuals' ability to communicate effectively through digital platforms, particularly among university students both in text and video formats. This indicates that technological progress does not necessarily equate to improved digital public speaking skills. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the implementation of content creator-based digital learning on the public speaking abilities of elementary teacher education students at Universitas Madako Tolitoli. Using a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, the research involved ten sixth-semester students. Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of the produced content. The data were then analyzed through reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that content creator-based learning significantly enhanced students’ average confidence (4.57), fluency (5.00), structured delivery (4.76), and creativity (4.72). This study contributes to the development of digital learning models by demonstrating that the integration of content creator-based approaches effectively improves students' public speaking skills while also identifying technical constraints that must be addressed to optimize the use of technology in higher education.
2025-06-26T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Syaiful Hidayat, Karmila Risa Rahmawati, Dela Maulana, Indri & Fitriani
